8. October 2014
The world-renowned Red Dot design competition announced this year’s winners: LUNAR wins a Design Concept 2014 Award for TERA, the latest in our family of re-imagined home exercise products designed in Munich.
And, as if that wasn’t enough, LUNAR Europe was recognized by Red Dot as one of the world’s most innovative design studios ranked Lucky No. Seven. Red Dot voted LUNAR Europe on their international list of most innovative Design Studios 2014: “The Red Dot Design Ranking 2014 honors leaders in innovation for their pursuance of design excellence through this compilation of your organization’s cumulative achievements in the Red Dot Award: Design Concept over the past 5 years. It serves as a beacon to the world, directing the attention of the media, businesses, designers and the public to these organizations that will s!urely define our world tomorrow.“
“We’re thrilled that Red Dot is recognizing LUNAR Europe for our commitment to innovation in design,” said Roman Gebhard, managing partner, LUNAR Europe. “As designers we love to explore how we engage with technology, the world and ourselves, but above all we love to create beautiful objects that empower people.” LUNAR began its reimagining of home exercise equipment three years ago with award-winning concepts for NOVA, an interactive climbing wall, and VELA a new cycle trainer. “It’s an honor to see TERA touching people in similar ways,” Roman said.
The 2014 Red Dot winners were announced in Singapore Sept. 26. Nearly 4,800 entries from 63 countries were submitted in this year’s competition. The full list of winners is available here along with the list of Red Dot’s most innovative design studios.
